The project “SAND! Alternative sand production and risk reduction of sand dredging in Vietnam” will organize a workshop discussing sand scarcity & governance and Alternatives to mitigate sand scarcity in the Mekong region. More specifically, objectives of the discussion on sand scarcity and governance on 24th January are: (1) sand demand analysis, (2) sand governance in the Mekong Delta, (3) sand demand analysis in Hồ Chí Minh City and An Giang. For the discussion on alternatives to mitigate sand scarcity in the Mekong region on 25th January, the objectives are: (1) discussion and assessment of sand alternatives, (2) recycling methodologies and material research, (3) properties and environmental impact of Substitute Building Material.
