Climate change, biodiversity loss, and growing inequalities are three major challenges which the region of Southeast Asia is facing. Additionally, these issues are intensified under the current COVID-19 pandemic. The two-day conference will bring together high-level development actors working in Southeast Asia (SEA). Accordingly, the event aims to discuss and reflect these topics towards a sustainable future in SEA. The main contents of the conference are as follows:
Day 1 – 30 September 2021: Plenary session on the development challenges in SEA and one round table discussing on cooperation between ASEAN and development actors to support SEA countries in their transitions.
Day 2 – 1 October 2021: three round tables presenting three key issues which are in line with the main priorities identified in the strategy of the French Development Agency (AFD) in SEA, specifically:
– The cooperation between the private and public sectors for promoting the energy transition in Southeast Asia
– The importance of biodiversity preservation in the context of the permanent transformation of the Mekong basin
