30–31 May 2022
The 3RproMar project is an ASEAN-German cooperation project being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in coordination with the ASEAN Secretariat.
The 1st Hybrid Regional Workshop of the project aims to produce: (a) a set of recommended actions to support the planning phase of the ASEAN RAP for Combating Marine Debris; (b) a set of entry points for follow-up action of 3RproMar; (c) a compilation of good practices and priorities in terms of policy, research, innovation, private sector engagement, and public awareness in tackling land-based marine litter at the regional, national, and local levels, to support the region’s transition to a circular economy; (d) a regional workshop report to feed into and be disseminated at 3RproMar national stakeholder forums in the four focused AMS, including Vietnam.
The in-person setting will be held tentatively in two cities: Jakarta for Indonesia-based participants and Phnom Penh for Cambodia-based participants, while the online session will be held via Microsoft Teams for Vietnam and Philipines-based participants. The two-day workshop will also involve industry, the financial sector, academic experts, civil society representatives, as well as ASEAN Dialogue/Development Partners.
