AquaViet is investigating the possibilities and limitations of the process of bank filtration for the drinking water supply in Việt Nam. In particular, the use of bank filtration under difficult conditions, like the contamination of water by anthropogenic trace substances, ammonium, arsenic, iron, manganese, and pathogenic microorganisms, as well as high flood risk, is being investigated. The project locations are the Cầu River and the Red River in the greater Hà Nội area. The project is developing solutions for the design and operation of water production and treatment plants. The goal is the development of innovative technologies for the cost-effective treatment of raw water as well as suitable monitoring systems.
