Farmers in the southern province of Bình Thuận, one of the driest areas and home to dragon fruit in Vietnam, have increasingly applied modern and water-saving irrigation techniques to crop production, according to the province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Specifically, the drip irrigation technique together with other measures against water scarcity and to adapt to adverse weather conditions has been used.

Compared to conventional irrigation, this method has helped farmers not only to save water, reduced labor expenses but also increase crop productivity, consequently result in economic benefits.
