Bình Định & Quảng Nam: ethnic minorities will benefit from climate projects with US$ 60 million funding from ADB

Description

The Asia Development Bank (ADB) has approved US$ 58 million loans and US$ 2 million grant aid for the project “Climate Resilient Inclusive Infrastructure for Ethnic Minorities Project I”. The project will also be funded US$ 21.73 million from the Government of Vietnam. The project aims to improve the climate resilience of the transport and water supply infrastructure in the south-central provinces of Bình Định and Quảng Nam. The US$ 2 million grant will be used to supply and establish data systems for climate risk management.
About 126,300 people of ethnic minorities among 243,000 people in remote areas will benefit from the project.
