Discussion on source-to-sea approach on plastic waste management for Hội An

Description

That is the content of an online meeting on 14th July 2021 organized by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Source-to-sea (S2S) approach aims to reduce marine waste from all possible sources which generate waste flowing to the sea and water bodies. More specifically, S2S stresses the connectivity and interrelation between river basins and coastal areas to minimize plastic waste from various sources. The SIWI has published its S2S approach in “Implementing the Source-to-Sea Approach: A Guide for Practitioners” in 2019.
Under the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of Foundations for Source-to-Sea Management project, since 2019, with the technical assistance of SIWI, a pilot S2S project in Vũ Gia – Thu Bồn basin has been conducted by IUCN.
