The Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng is supporting farmers in digging small ponds to store irrigation water until 2025. This is the continuation of a project to dig small ponds from 2016 – 2020. In this period, nearly 3,000 small ponds were dug, meeting 54% of the targeted number and 95% of the targeted pond capacity. This action is a response to the shortage of irrigation water in the dry season, which had negative impacts on crop output, particularly high-value trees like coffee, tea, and durian.
