According to the Vietnam General Statistics Office (GSO), Vietnam has lost 508 billion VND (US$ 22.14 million) as a consequence of natural disasters in the first six months of this year. Accordingly, the disasters killed 34 people and injured 51. Additionally, 6,600 cattle and poultry were killed; 47,500 ha of rice and 12,400 ha of vegetables were damaged; and 9,938 houses were collapsed, swept away, or flooded.
