Hồ Chí Minh City (HCMC) will build a reservoir, which can provide clean water for seven days with a capacity of 5 million m3. To avoid the pollution and saline intrusion, the reservoir will be constructed one kilometer upstream from the confluence of the Sài Gòn and Thị Tính rivers.
