HCMC needs investment in wastewater treatment

Description

According to the city’s Department of Construction, more than 1.5 million cubic meters of wastewater are generated in the city every day. However, the total amount of treated wastewater in the city is only 12.6 percent. Untreated wastewater is discharged directly into the environment, affecting the landscape, water quality and people’s daily lives. To treat 100 percent of domestic wastewater before it enters the environment, six wastewater treatment projects are being bid out. Planned to be implemented by 2025 and completed by 2030.
