Launch of “Youth for Climate Action in Vietnam” report

Description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Việt Nam, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE), and the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union has co-organized to launch the ‘Youth for Climate Action in Việt Nam’ report on 29 May 2021. This activity is under the framework of the Youth4Climate Initiative conducted by UNDP in Việt Nam to increase the youths´ capacity and awareness concerning the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of Vietnam in response to the Paris Agreement for Climate Change.

The report includes six topics that provide information about the bottlenecks and common measures, greenhouse emission reduction, climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, climate change policy and youth action roadmap, and subsequent recommendations to authorities for 2021 – 2025. One of the major solutions to tackle the challenges faced by the youth is to establish a network of youth for climate action and develop an information portal on climate change for the youth.
