Ninh Thuận aims to become a renewable energy hub in the country by 2025

Description

When the plan to build nuclear power plants in the province was abandoned, Ninh Thuận quickly turned to renewable energy development, utilizing its natural strength in the abundance of sun and wind.

Recently, the province passed Resolution No. 20-NQ/TU on building the province into a renewable energy center by 2025, with an orientation to 2030, contributing to promoting socio-economic and sustainable development. Specifically, the energy and renewable energy sector will contribute 22% to the Gross National Product and 29% to the total budget revenue of Ninh Thuan Province by 2025. Along with agriculture and tourism, these are the three main pillars of the province’s economic development. In order to achieve the above goal, the province has established 6 groups of tasks and measures, focusing on the construction of Cà Ná Liquefied Natural Gas Power Center, Ninh Thuận Renewable Energy Center and Applied Energy Technology Research and Development Center (R&D), and the construction of the transmission infrastructure. In addition, specific incentives and special measures, as well as practical proposals for the government in terms of planning and framework conditions, must be prepared in accordance with Party Resolution 55/NQ-TW on the Orientation of Vietnam’s National Energy Development Strategy to 2030 with a vision to 2045.
