Collected fees from forest environmental services have been a sustainable financial source. However, the revenues have not reflected the true value of forests, according to Deputy Director Phạm Văn Điển of Vietnam Administration of Forestry (VNFOREST). Presently, the majority of the collected fees is from hydropower plants and clean water supply companies. Experts suggested additional sources of payment from ecotourism businesses, industrial production establishments, and aquaculture facilities. Furthermore, in 2021, a new feature including forest carbon sequestration and emission reduction services will be added to the revenues.
