This announcement is stated by the European Commission’s Executive Vice-President for the Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, in his meeting with the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta on 19th October. The program is funded by European Union with approximately 5 million € within the framework of EU-ASEAN green partnership. The program aims to promote the exchange of best practices among 10 ASEAN cities and between these cities with European cities. It will also synergize with other ongoing ASEAN initiatives, e.g., the ASEAN Initiative on Environmentally Sustainable Cities, the ASEAN Smart Cities Network, the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanization Strategy, and the EU-supported SMART CHANGE project.
