USAID supports Đà Nẵng to develop renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has assisted the Central city of Đà Nẵng to accelerate renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions within the framework of the USAID Vietnam Energy Security project. The project promoting urban energy security in Đà Nẵng was launched online on Wednesday, 30 June 2021.

The USAID Vietnam Urban Energy Security is a four-year project (2019 – 2023) with the funding of $14 million. It aims to promote the deployment of advanced, distributed energy solutions in urban areas in Đà Nẵng and Hồ Chí Minh City, such as rooftop solar, electric vehicles, waste-to-energy, and other energy efficiency solutions.

For Đà Nẵng, the objectives of the projects are: (1) At least 40 megawatts of advanced, distributed energy systems deployed; (2) At least $60 million in public and private investment mobilized for advanced, distributed urban energy systems; and (3) At least five innovative solutions to address urban energy and environment issues demonstrated and/or commercialized.
