Commitment of Vietnam to Paris Climate Agreement

Vietnam ratified the Paris Climate Agreement in 2016 and has set ambitious climate objectives to contribute to this agreement. That is the statement of the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Lê Công Thành at a workshop “Creation of an Overarching Framework for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) in Việt Nam”. The German Development Co-operation Agency (GIZ) already supported MONRE to implement the NAMAs. In the coming time, the GIZ will launch the project SIPA “Support to Việt Nam for the Implementation of the Paris Agreement”. In this regard, it continue to help MONRE formulate and realize an ambitious climate policy.
