Vietnam and Germany promote collaboration in renewable energy

Description

In a meeting in Dresden with Germany’s Großmann Ingenieur Consult GmbH (GICON) and Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) on 4th August, the Vietnamese Ambassador in Germany, Nguyễn Minh Vũ stated that Vietnam prioritizes sustainable energy development to ensure national energy security and reduce greenhouse gases emissions.

The meeting is specific progress to foster the cooperation after the GICON and VPI signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for renewable energy cooperation in Vietnam on 29th March. The collaboration will focus first on hydrogen production from offshore wind energy.

Over the last 10 years, cooperation in energy, in general, and in new and renewable energy, in particular, is one of the priority collaborations between Germany and Vietnam. Presently, Germany is one of the countries which assist Vietnam most in this field.
