Vietnam becomes eighth member of Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Insurance Facility


The Southeast Asia Disaster Risk Insurance Facility (SEADRIF) aims to promote financial resilience against climate and disaster risks in the region. The facility is a platform for ASEAN countries, China, Japan, and Korea (ASEAN+3).

As a member of this facility, Vietnam has opportunities to access regional and international technical and financial solutions, e.g., new financial instruments, in confrontation with climate and disaster risks. Particularly, SEADRIF provides support for member countries in the field of “protection of government budget, financial protection of public assets, risk modeling and risk management, local insurance markets development, technology, and financial product innovation”.
