Report “Vietnam: Toward a Safe, Clean, and Resilient Water System”

Description

To ensure the future security of Vietnam’s water resources, significant problems of water stress, decline in water quality, and water-related natural disaster risks need to be addressed. It is recommended to use water more efficiently and manage water resources more effectively. If the issues are not solved, water pollution would reduce the country’s gross domestic product by 3.5 percent annually by 2035. These are some main statements at the launch workshop co-hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the World Bank (WB) on May 30, 2019, in Hanoi to announce the result of the WB’s study report “Vietnam: Towards a Safe, Clean, and Resilient Water System‘.
