Description

Following up the approval of various packages of the project from both German and Vietnamese sides, the first German research team of ViWat Mekong project, Engineering component, makes a field mission to Vietnam. The group visits and extends content discussion with the Vietnamese project partners. The first field trip is also conducted in the Mekong Delta and a workshop is organized at the National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI).

The Viwat Mekong project is entitled “Integrated solutions for sustainable development in the Mekong Delta – Land, Water, Energy and Climate”. The main task is to define and elaborate sustainable and adapted technological and management solutions for safeguarding land and water resources and to develop protective measures. These solutions have to be embedded into socio-economical as well as land and infrastructure management concepts and into the respective governmental aims and structures in the Mekong Delta region.
