Commitment of Vietnam on marine plastic waste reduction


At a conference organized in Hà Nội to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Việt Nam and Canada, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Trần Hồng Hà said Vietnam pledged to reduce ocean plastic waste by developing a national action plan on ocean plastic waste management. He asked authorities to take the opportunities and solve the problems of ocean plastic waste management at national, regional, and international levels. Specifically, a comprehensive legal framework for the issue and provide incentives for consumption reduction, recycling, and plastic reuse should be developed.
